This resource update provides an overview of forest resources in Michigan based on inventories conducted by the U.S. Forest Service, Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) program of the Northern Research Station.

The 2015 first quarter report includes data on forest health in Huron-Manistee, Ottawa and Hiawatha forests, first quarter state and federal market activity and first quarter timber sales.

The U.S. trucking industry is effectively needing to replace the entire workforce every year (100% turnover) and new legislation is making it very difficult to attract and retain people. In 2015, the U.S. will have a 250,000 deficit in truck drivers.
