Description: 

We are seeking a skilled and versatile individual to join our cut-to-length logging crew as a Forwarder Operator and Logging Crew Member. In this role, you will be responsible for operating an 8-wheel drive Rottne F15 forwarder, ensuring efficient log transportation, and performing various other tasks to support the logging operation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a crucial part of a logging crew dedicated to sustainable forestry practices. Responsibilities: 

Operate 8wd Rottne F15 forwarder on a 2-man cut-to-length logging crew • Perform routine maintenance on machines including fluids and greasing • Occasional light chainsaw work • Work closely with LAFCO foresters to implement harvest plans • Plow snow with a pickup truck • Perform minor administrative duties in the field including organization of paperwork for outgoing loads, fuel deliveries and parts invoicing 

Qualifications: 

Previous experience operating heavy machinery, particularly forwarders, is preferred. - Proficiency in routine machine maintenance and minor repairs. - Chainsaw operation skills and the ability to use such equipment safely. - Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with LAFCO foresters and crew members. - A valid driver's license with a clean driving record for snow plowing duties. - Attention to detail for administrative tasks. - Commitment to safety protocols and environmental stewardship.
