The Michigan Forest Products Council (MFPC) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has endorsed Attorney General Bill Schuette for the general election this November. 

Governor Rick Snyder is recognized for promoting, protecting and sustaining Michigan's forests.

Today, the Michigan Forest Products Council announced their endorsement of Governor Rick Snyder in his bid for re-election. 

Wednesday, the Michigan legislature approved much needed funding for a statewide best management practices monitoring program for Michigan’s forests thanks to support from the Michigan Forest Products Council.

Joining MFPC is Amanda Sumerix, director of communications. Sumerix joins from Gibbs & Soell Public Relations, Chicago, Ill., where she was a junior account executive on one of the world’s largest agri-business operations.

On October 11, 2013 Michigan Forest Products Council Chairman, Mike Sussman, (left) presented JR Richardson (right) with MFPC's pretigious Tuebor Award. The award is presented only to those who have demonstrated both extraordinary leadership and stewardship of Michigan's natural resources.

Kailey Forbes joined the Michigan Forest Products Council's Lansing staff as the new Director of Operations.

The Michigan Forest Products Council, on behalf of its staff and membership, wishes to commemorate the life of John Besse, founder of Besse Forest Products. On July 27, 2013 John passed away at his home in Gladstone, Michigan. 

The Michigan SIC (State Implementation Committee) and partners implemented a Best Management Practics (BMP) monitoring program. The results of this audit and the positive impact of BMP implementation at the state level are posted on the SFI Program website.
